[BREAKING] Wildfire Sparks in Summit County

A wildfire has been reported on Buffalo Mountain, which is located in Summit County, north of Frisco and west of Silverthorne. Buffalo Mountain is part of the Gore Range.

The size of the fire is currently not known, but evacuations are said to be in progress at Wildernest and Mesa Cortina. According to the Summit County Fire & E.M.S. Facebook page, current estimates (12:00PM MT) put the size of the fire at 30 acres.

Summit County Fire & E.M.S. have called for both firefighters and aircraft assistance to help control the burn as quickly as possible.

Below you’ll see a tweet that includes an image of the fire. Jayson Luber, the publisher of the tweet, states that winds are strong and that he expects the fire to push toward I-70.
