A plane crash has occurred in Broomfield, Colorado, according to a tweet from North Metro Fire Rescue.
UPDATE: According to a report from the Denver Gazette, one person has died in this crash.
Their initial report of the crash was made at 12:50 PM, with crews then en route to the area near Eldorado Boulevard and Interlocken Loop. This intersection has since been closed and people are asked to avoid the area. Those in the area should be cautious of first responders on scene, likely to be there for hours.
The plane was later determined to be a small single-engine plane en route to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. At last report, it was unknown how many passengers were on board at the time of the crash.
A small fire was sparked by the crash, though this was extinguished by an Aircraft Rescue Firefighting truck from Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport and North Metro fire crews.
No other details were immediately available.
Broomfield is located between Boulder and Denver.
