According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, a body has been recovered at Horsetooth Mountain Park that is believed to be a missing 30-year-old man from nearby Fort Collins.
Last Sunday, a Larimer County Natural Resources ranger spotted an unoccupied vehicle that had yet to be moved by the following Wednesday. This prompted an investigation into who the owner of the vehicle was. After the identity of the owner was discovered, authorities were able to confirm that family members had not heard from the man in several days.
A search for the man was started on Wednesday but called off due to extreme weather-related conditions. Frigid temperatures, snow, and strong winds have been present in the area in recent days.
The search for the missing man was resumed on Thursday and a body was found mid-day.
The identity of the man and the official cause of death will be released at a later time. Foul play is not suspected.
Thanks goes out to parties involved in the search and rescue effort, including Larimer County Emergency Services, Larimer County Search and Rescue, and the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
Josh Hall, 27, remains missing, last seen in nearby Boulder County.
