According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, multiple mountain passes were shut down on Thursday morning following big snowfall that dumped as much as 2 feet at the high-altitude spots.
As a result of the big snow, the mountain passes have been closed for avalanche mitigation and will likely reopen as avalanche mitigation is completed throughout the day. The passes include Wolf Creek Pass (east of Durango), Red Mountain Pass, Molas Pass, and Coal Bank Pass.
