If you’re located in the Colorado Springs area (or are willing to make the drive), we’ve caught wind of a great way to get introduced to Colorado’s great outdoors – UpaDowna’s “3rd Saturday Adventures.”

An organization with the goal of making outdoor recreation accessible for all, UpaDowna runs this monthly event as a means of giving the community a chance to meet people with similar interests and to explore new activities that a newcomer might not be comfortable approaching on their own.

This month, the group is headed to the Aiken Canyon Loop for a hiking excursion on January 19. The event is free to attend and starts at 10 AM. You’ll find the group in the “dirt parking lot on right side of Turkey Canyon Ranch road” with an UpaDowna banner.

This hike is approximately 3.3 miles long, making it “moderate” difficulty due to length. Elevation gain is a noticeable 429 feet throughout the route. Dogs are not allowed.

Find more details here and check the UpaDowna Facebook page for more events like this.
