A few days ago, one of my mountain biking buddies proposed a rather strange idea—that we both invest in all-terrain unicycles. At first, I thought he was joking. Never in my lifetime have I considered taking up this one-wheeled hobby for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I just don’t have the balance. Maybe I was born with tiny inner ears. Assuming that he saw the look of confusion on my face, he immediately started to explain his logic.
The general idea was that we’d get so good at riding unicycles on trails that we’d be able to take them on long hikes to use on the flats and downhill terrain, so that we could cover more distance in a shorter amount of time. Whether or not that’s a good strategy is yet to be determined, but after he showed me the video below, I’m thinking I’ll give it a shot.
