Breckenridge Police responded to a suspected home invasion on Friday only to discover that the creature they were trying to rid from the house was not a human. It was a moose…a full-grown adult cow moose. To further complicate things, this moose was found in the basement of the home. Keep in mind that an adult cow moose can weigh close to 800 pounds. Follow along as the story unfolds in their series of tweets, from discovery to tranquilization to removal.

If you live in an area where wildlife sightings are common, make sure you keep windows and doors properly sealed and all food put away. Utilize bear-proof garbage containers. No one was hurt in this scenario, but a wild animal in this situation is likely to feel trapped. This can prompt aggression.
