On Saturday around 12:30PM, an adult female passed away following a fall while hiking in the backcountry near Silverthorne, Colorado. According to the Summit County Rescue Group, the woman was on a ridge line when she fell. A medical team arrived via helicopter to provide assistance, while a Black Hawk helicopter was called in to carry the woman out of the backcountry due to rough landing terrain. She was transported directly to the Summit County Coroner’s Office, which most likely indicates she was deceased on the scene.

Several reports state that the woman was hiking on a mountain known as Thorne, located approximately one mile west of Salmon Lake, which is located North of Silverthorne.
