Day 1: Skydiving, Cheese, and Art

Morning

Start the day out by soaring high with Mile Hi Skydiving. Experience the adrenaline-pumping action of jumping out of a plane and viewing the Front Range from above as you free fall from 17,500 feet in the air. You’re sure to tap into your adventurous side by reaching speeds up to 130 miles per hour.

Lunchtime

After the thrill of the air, head back into town to fuel your body and mind by learning about cheese-making, a specialty in Longmont.  The Art of Cheese offers cheese making classes in which you’ll learn how to make your own creamy delights. For cheeselovers, don’t miss a visit to  Haystack Mountain Goat Creamery for award-winning goat cheeses. Top off the experience with a visit to the Cheese Importers – a French inspired café with plenty of artisan cheese offerings.

Evening

If you’re in town on the second Friday of the month, be sure to check out the Downtown Longmont Creative District for an evening of art gallery openings, restaurant promotions, and gourmet bites and libations. From May through October, the Brewhop Trolley offers rides for just $1/ride all throughout the evening so that you can stop at brewpubs, galleries, restaurants, and shops throughout the downtown area. After a night on the town, rest your head at one of Longmont’s many accommodation options. From bed & breakfasts to trusted national chain hotels, there’s a rest spot for any style and budget.

Day 2: Farmers Market, Waterfronts, and Brews

Morning

Rise and shine to visit Longmont’s Farmers Market. Each Saturday from April until the third Saturday in November, the Farmers Market features food trucks, coffee baristas, wineries, bakeries, crafters, artisans, and so much more! You’ll be able to explore the wide variety of Colorado-grown produce, hand-crafted treats, and artisan gifts. The market is open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m and includes live music, kid’s activities, morning yoga, food trucks, and free parking.

Lunchtime

Pick up a picnic and some charcuterie at the Farmers Market and head to Union Reservoir for lunch. Originally called Calkins Lake, this reservoir is one of the few large natural lakes in Colorado. In 1903, the Union Ditch Company drilled a tunnel to release water into the St. Vrain River. Water enthusiasts will love the many options for wakeless boating, stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, and windsurfing. For convenience, rentals are available for kayaks and paddleboards.

Evening

After some fun in the sun, ride the Brewhop Trolley, a hop-on and hop-off experience that allows you to visit Longmont’s craft breweries, distilleries, and a craft cidery. Craft your own itinerary by stepping off the trolley to enjoy Longmont’s live music scene. Book your tickets in advance to make sure you’ve got a ride on this whimsical trolley ride.
