Dubbed the “Rocky Mountain High Cheese Burger Delight,” Carl’s Jr. is exploring the idea of a CBD-infused burger on April 20, 2019 at a single Denver location in Colorado. The burger will include jalepeños, pepperjack cheese, waffle fries, and a signature sauce. The signature sauce will be called the “Santa Fe” sauce and that’s where the CBD will be found.

According to 9News, the location selling the burger is located at 4050 Colorado Boulevard in Denver. It will be sold for $4.20. If the burger sells well, the company “may consider” expanding the option to other locations, according to Business Insider.

CBD is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. According to health.com, it is used to “impart a feeling of relaxation and calm.” Unlike THC, which is also found in the cannabis plant, CBDs are not psychoactive. Many medical claims have been made about the benefits of CBD, including that it can be used to treat epilepsy, back pain, and cancer. That being said, a lack of research into the subject has made this difficult to verify. In upcoming years, more information about potential benefits will likely be available.
