According to a report by the Colorado Springs Gazette, strong winds on the roadways have prompted the National Weather Service to warn drivers about travel on mountain roads.

Winds are expected to reach up to 60 miles per hour as up to six inches fall in lower elevation areas of Colorado’s high country, with more possibly falling on high-altitude passes and beyond.

Due to wind and heavy snow, visibility will likely be extremely limited. Snow drifts will likely amass.

If you’re on the roads in the mountains on Saturday, avoid high altitude stretches and be aware of road closures while planning your route. Use extreme caution while driving.
