The Colorado Parks and Wildlife has issued a press release asking the public for information that may help them solve a recent poaching case in Estes Valley.

In this specific case, a bull elk was shot and killed near Devils Gulch Road and H Bar G Road in Estes Valley. The elk was left behind by the poacher to rot. The crime occurred on January 13.

Anyone that may have information about the case is encouraged to contact CPW Wildlife Officer Chase Rylands. He can be reached at 970-652-0595. The press release states that there is a reward available.

Several other recent incidents of poaching show how this is a pressing problem in the Centennial State. Not long ago, a mountain lion was illegal killed. Another recent incident involved multiple elk in Rocky Mountain National Park.
