Tucked amid the massive Collegiate Peaks of the Colorado Rockies, 14,000-foot hulks that form the spine of the continental United States, is one of Colorado’s most family-friendly hot springs resorts. People have been “taking the waters” here since 1867, and the historic bath house reflects that history. Relax in the 105-degree Soaking Pool, swim laps in the 95-degree Exercise Pool, introduce the kids to the 400-foot waterslide and enjoy some quiet serenity in the natural pools along Chalk Creek. Lodging is available.
- You can’t bring in your own alcohol, but you can purchase drinks inside.
- The creekside pools are covered by high water in spring and early summer, so that’s not the best time to go for the full experience.
Recommended season(s): The hot springs are open year-round. Try winter to get the most solitude.
