This is the largest of three campgrounds in the area of Jefferson Lake, a very popular summer destination in Park County. The campground has 34 sites scattered among the namesake pines, just a few miles from the reservoir. There are toilets, water pumps and trash service, with a $16 per-night camping fee. Sites can handle RVs up to 30 feet long, though there are no electrical hookups. Campers can visit nearby Jefferson Lake or spend some time hiking or biking along the Continental Divide.
- Jefferson Lake is a great fishing and boating spot. Boats must have no-wake motors.
- The campground opens before Memorial Day and stays open into October, so avoid the summer crowds by visiting early or late in the summer camping season.
- The campground, like others in the area, often fills on weekends so it’s best to make reservations.
Recommended season(s): Mid-May – early October.
