Granby Ranch Ski Area
Ski Ranch Granby, just south of Granby along U.S. 40, is a family-owned ski resort for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. It is the ideal family-friendly, learn-to-ski area. Ski Ranch Granby, usually open from early December through March, averages 220 inches of snow every winter. The resort offers plenty of parking as well as easy lift access, gladed skiing, a terrain park, ski and snowboarding lessons, gear rental packages, and night skiing. The resort, formerly called SolVista Basin, gives a more personal experience than the big Colorado ski areas along with great scenery, blue skies, and regular trail grooming. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails explore snowy valleys near the resort.
- Ski Ranch Granby is perfect for a family ski adventure. The resort offers lesson packages to teach you to ski or snowboard through their Get on the Snow program. The Snow School gets beginners skiing with an approach that uses specific body movements and shaped skis. The school has a beginner hill and seven Progression Terrain Parks to learn how to connect turns and do jumps. If you complete two lesson packages you’ll graduate with a GOTS season pass. The program is for Level 1 beginners and reservations are required.
- The four-season resort is Bike Granby Ranch in the summer. The area offers downhill, cross-country, and family mountain biking trails for all abilities from beginner to expert. These include rad single-track trails that race through aspen forests to placid bike paths and dirt roads in the area’s large trail network. There are lift-serviced downhill trails, private biking lessons, and bike rentals and repairs.
- Besides skiing and mountain biking, Granby Ranch offers lots of summer activities. Play a round of gold at Golf Granby Ranch, an 18-hole public championship course with stunning mountain views and challenging shots. Cast a fishing line in gold-medal streams for trophy trout or us the chairlift to access hiking trails.
