Two wild bears were spotted taking a dip in a swimming pool Wednesday afternoon in Boulder County.

The pool party was captured on video by an animal protection officer at about 4:00 PM in the 3000 block of Vista Drive. Luckily for these bears, this afternoon pool party was timed out just right – before wild weather arrived in Colorado, bringing strong winds, chilly temperatures, and snow to many parts of the state.

While the video of the swimming bears is quite entertaining, it’s important to remember that bears are wild animals and they should never be approached. Black bears are extremely active in the fall throughout Colorado, eating up to 20,000 calories a day as they prepare for winter hibernation. Keep your distance and report any unusual wildlife sightings to your local Colorado Parks and Wildlife office.
