On Sunday afternoon, the body of a man that had been reported missing from Summit County was discovered in Grand County near the top of Berthoud Pass at around 11,000 feet above sea level. The body was found in a parked car owned by the missing man with no indications that made a specific cause of death obvious.

According to reports by officials, the vehicle was near mile marker 241 at a pullout. This discovery concluded a multi-county search.

The body was discovered by a member of the missing man’s family.

Berthoud Pass is used by many coming from the I-7o corridor looking to access Grand County, home to destinations like Winter Park, Granby Ranch, and the Grand Lake entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Berthoud Pass is also known for being well-maintained and for its stunning views.
