According to a press release by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the body of a woman was found approximately two miles away from the Fourth of July trailhead in Nederland after hikers reported hearing sounds of distress.

The hikers reported the sounds of distress on October 30, though they were unable to locate the source. Search and rescue teams returned the next morning and found a deceased adult female.

The hikers heard the sounds of distress while they were in the vicinity of Arapahoe Pass and Arapahoe Glacier trails.

In the press release, it mentions that police do not believe any suspicious behavior took place, though details regarding the cause of death are not included in their report.
