Whether you’re a novice just getting a feel for your bike or an experienced rider, mountain bike parks are the perfect way to practice your skills so you’re ready to shred high-country single-track.
5. Bayou Gulch Regional Park, Parker
This family-friendly park that opened in fall of 2015 is perfect for beginners who can learn to navigate man-made wooden ramps as well as natural features like berms and rocks. About half of the features are built for beginners and half for intermediate riders.
4. Golden Bike Park, Golden
A grant from the Colorado Mountain Bike Association contributed to serious improvements for this park built to simulate a side-country experience. The trails start from one point at the summit of the park and increase in difficulty as they descend the mesa. The multi-level tracks combine high speed single-track with dirt jumps and pump tracks. Jumps are all constructed with bailout rollers for less experienced riders.
3. Valmont Bike Park, Boulder
This 42-acre terrain park opened in 2011 and features pump tracks, dirt jumps, slopestyle courses, and single-track cross-country trails. The Boulder Parks and Recreation Department has organized courses by ability level so you can work from small up to the Extra Large jumps. The park is family-friendly and the best part, everyone rides for free.
