The search is over – we’ve officially found the most unique place to stay in Colorado. It’s a kangaroo farm/”vacation rental zoo” in Golden, Colorado called Zoo Chateau, and during your stay, you’ll be able to learn about and interact with kangaroos, a zonkey (not a typo), horses, and more. This is an experience that animal-lovers can’t miss.
If you are interested in visiting for a stay, look forward to plenty of room in a lavish pad. This spot can hold 9 people in four bedrooms and comes with a giant-sized chessboard on the floor of the entry way. According to AirBnb, it starts at $350 per night, with 100% of recent guests giving the experience a 5-star rating at time of publishing.
Not wanting to rent overnight? You’re also able to make a reservation to visit the animals, including an option called the “ Kangaroo Experience.” This includes an hour-long meet-and-greet with red kangaroos during which you’ll have a chance to bottle-feed kangaroos and take pictures. You’ll also be taught a lot from the knowledgable on-site staff. It’s listed as $45 per person on their website, with openings listed each day at 12PM. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.
There’s also an experience that allows you to meet other animals on the property, including the zonkey. Here’s where you can book both.
