Reaching an elevation of 14,130 feet above sea level, Mount Evans Highway is the highest paved road in North America. It's a very popular tourist attraction, offerings travelers on the route access to stunning views and the summit of the peak.
Last summer the highway to the summit of Mt. Evans was closed to motorized vehicles due to COVID concerns. The road is back open this summer, but paid reservations must be made ahead of time online at recreation.gov.
