2. Take an historic train ride to 14,115 feet above sea level
The Cog Railway climbs through alpine meadows above treeline before it reaches the 14,114 foot summit.

3. Climb the iconic red rocks at Garden of the Gods

Climbing season is year-round in the Pikes Peak region. Hand-feed the largest reticulated giraffe herd in captivity the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies, and get hands on with some of the Zoo’s smaller residents in The Loft. 6. Visit the Highest Bridge in the Country

A visit to the Royal Gorge is the perfect day trip from Colorado Springs. This incredible bridge is the highest in North America, stretching 956 feet above the Royal Gorge Canyon and the Arkansas River.
