As the snow stacks up in Colorado’s high country, a lot of roads are being shut down by the Colorado Department of Transportation due to safety concerns, including parts of I-70. Below you’ll find a few of the relevant tweets directly from the Colorado Department of Transportation about the situation on the roadways. Note, Colorado Department of Transportation does remove certain tweets after the situation is no longer problematic. Please check their official Twitter page for the most up-to-date information. Additionally, please check this map for details about roads around the state.

At time of publishing, currently closures seem to be:

I-70 EB MM 176 due to safety concerns.

I-70 EB in Frisco

I-70 EB in Vail at Exit 180

US 6 between MM 220 and 229

I-70 EB MM 171 due to accident

These seem to be some of the major closures, though this is constantly changing and more roads are shutting down in certain parts. Use this map to see where current closures and other issues are. If you’re in the mountains, drive safely and be aware of tire/chain laws that are in effect. Account for extra time on the roads when traveling today.
