Approximately 72,000 Xcel customers in the Denver area and northern Colorado are without power following Wednesday’s bomb cyclone. Residents with power outages got as high as 400,000 during peak issues yesterday.

Most of this power was restored by Thursday morning, with the exception of 72,000 or so customers. Our staff is unable to find any estimation of when this power will be restored. Temperatures in the affected areas seem to be hovering close to 32 degrees. Temperatures dropped into the teens last night during the outage and are expected to do so again tonight.
