Summer Weekend in Fort CollinsBy Sophie Goodman

Day 1

Horsetooth Reservoir

This 6.5-mile long reservoir is surrounded by 1,900 acres of public land. Enjoy fishing, boating, picnicking, swimming, and waterskiing on the reservoir. Rent jetskis, fishing boats, and pontoons at the Inlet Bay Marina.

South Bay Campground

This campground is located on the south end of Horsetooth Reservoir. Reserve a site in advance. There are tent sites, RV accessible sites, and other amenities.

Day 2

City Park (Fort Collins)

Picnic areas, horseshoe pits, barbecues, and baseball fields are just some of the features of this large city park. Start your day in the city of Fort Collins from here. Explore downtown, tour New Belgium and O’Dell breweries among others via bicycle. Tour the Colorado State University campus or go for a hike.

Mountain Park Campground

The Poudre Canyon was carved by the Cache la Poudre River. This large campground is set along the river’s shores. The 55-site campground features sites for both tents and RVs or trailers, coin-operated showers, a kid’s playground, and a volleyball court. Stay here with your family for a great way to finish out a summer weekend.
