Building a better helmet

There's an interesting look at helmet technology at Gear Junkie's website. Looks like we'll be seeing more and more of these new ski/board/bike helmets in stores.

As someone who has rocked her head a few times over the years, I want to know how to better protect my noggin!

The helmets employ a "multi-directional impact protection system" that mimics the cushioning power of fluid in your skull to protect your brain from traumatic injury if you should, say, smack your head in a fall off a rail (done that) or jumping over a log on a  trail (done that, too).

Check out the short story and photos. The helmets are being sold by POC, Burton, Scott, Sweet Protection, TSG, Lazer and others, according to GJ.  I'm thinking my brain might just be worth another $100.
