Storm still bearing down on Colorado
For lovers of deep powder, so many of this winter's snowstorms have been big teases, promising much before splitting and giving the good stuff to New Mexico or Wyoming while leaving Colorado high and dry.
So I've been trying not to get too excited about this one, but it appears we're finally in the cross-hairs, and forecasters say the flakes should start flying this afternoon, dumping 5 to 10 inches by Monday afternoon. The eastern San Juans (Wolf Creek, again) and the eastern Sawatch (looking at you Monarch) are supposed to do the best.
So wax your skis and get out there! Just don't take Interstate 70, which highway officials say will have even more soul-sucking traffic backups than usual on Monday.
