A 64-year-old man died while snowshoeing off the Green Mountain Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park Saturday, according to a news release.

At 3:10 p.m. Saturday, the Grand County Sheriff's Office received a cell phone call saying the man had collapsed and was not breathing about a third of a mile off the trail.

Officials found the man at around 3:30 p.m. but were unable to revive him, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The man was with a family member, according to the release.

His identity is being withheld until his family has been notified.
