Where's your favorite "side-country" skiing?

(Hiking above Breckenridge to find some sweet turns)
Skiers and riders: Next week's Out There story will be on the off-piste terrain at ski areas. Known as "side-country," slack-country" or "backcountry lite," they're places you have to hike or climb to, where you can find solitude and plenty of powder days after a storm, spots like Monarch's Mirkwood Basin or the Lake Chutes at Breckenridge.
Where's your favorite area and why? How tough is it to get there?
