The  Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area is accepting nominations through Feb. 28 for its Citizen Task Force.

The group has been advising the Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s AHRA Park Manager and the Bureau of Land Management’s AHRA River Manager since 1990.

The task force's 14 members represent seven interest areas and provide recommendations to the AHRA on park management as well as growth and development issues throughout the recreation area and upper Arkansas River Valley.

In addition, members serve as a communication link to stakeholders and other interested parties who are affected by management decisions. 

Nominations are being accepted for members representing the following interest areas:

• anglers
• commercial permittees
• environmental interests
• private boaters
• local governments
• riverfront property owners
• water users

Self-nominations are accepted, but AHRA encourages nominees to secure the endorsement by organizations that work regularly with the AHRA.

New members will serve two-year terms from April through April 2014. Members are expected to attend five regular meetings each year, which are typically scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until noon. CTF members are eligible to receive a Colorado State Parks annual Volunteer Pass.
