Glider crashes on Tahoe ski slope
Monday, February 06, 2012 09:04

Amazingly, no one was reported injured when a glider crash-landed on the slopes of Heavenly ski resort in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday afternoon.

Hundreds of skiers and snowboarders were on the mountain and witnesses said one snowboarder dove to the snow to avoid being hit by a wing of the aircraft.

El Dorado County authorities said the glider came down at about 1:30 p.m. near the First Run area. The pilot and passenger told authorities the glider lost lift and they looked for the safest place to land.
