GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany -- Lindsey Vonn, of Vail, dominated another downhill race on Saturday to claim her 50th career victory in the skiing World Cup.

Vonn, 27, conquered the 2,930 metres Kandahar piste in 1 minute 44.86 seconds in sunny but freezing conditions in the German Alps to win from Swiss Nadja Kamer (1:45.27) and Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein (1:45.65).

"It is a great feeling. Fifty is amazing. I never thought I would achieve this," said Vonn, who escaped a scare in the mid-section of the course.

Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell and Vreni Schneider of Switzerland are the only women to win more World Cup races, with 62 and 55, respectively.

Saturday's success was Vonn's ninth of the season and the 25th overall in the downhill.

She tops the downhill season list with 430 points and the overall World Cup en route to a fourth title with 1,350 points, almost 500 points ahead of her nearest rival Tina Maze of Slovenia.

The Garmisch-Partenkirchen races are completed with a super-g on Sunday.
