Breckenridge ski maker Ski Logik is paying it forward - and somewhat backward, too. The maker of stunning custom wood-based skis has provided the money to plant 3,000 trees in a rainforest restoration project being carried out by The Nature Conservancy. The trees will be used to help restore and preserve threatened portions of Brazil's Atlantic Rainforest. Ski Logik founder David Mazzarella said, "We're happy to support this project because it reclaims rainforest land, creates a carbon sink, and benefits local farmers. It's a win for everyone." Ski Logik has pledged to donate enought to have a tree planted for every pair of skis it produces. If you didn't follow the link above, read our story about Ski Logik and its head-turning skis. Ski Logiks were named Realskiers.com 2012 Overall Ski of the Year, Powder Magazine's 2012 Skier's Choice Award, Skiing Magazine's 2012 Tester's Choice Award, and Freeskier Magazine's 2012 Editor's Pick Award.
