There are three spots available in a FREE Avalanche Awareness class offered by REI next week.
Here's the class description:
"Learn what you don't know, what you should know and the basics of what you MUST know to help you decide WILL THIS SLOPE SLIDE? Join the professionals as they teach you how to recognize and avoid avalancheconditions. This is a must for all backcountry enthusiasts."
Sounds like a great introduction to learning how to stay safe in the backcountry.
The class is 6-8 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 9) at REI, 1376 E. Woodmen Road.
