X Games skier booted for misplaced hairband

A clothing violation - a misplaced hairband - bumped Idaho skicross racer Langely McNeal from the skicross finals at the X Games on Sunday.

Yep, she missed out because the band, wrapped around her right shin, might've made her ski pants more aerodynamic.

Uh-huh.

She was not booted, as some said earlier, because of the band she wore in tribute to the late skier Sarah Burke.

Apparently the French team's coaches complained the band was against FIS rules and McNeal was ousted from competition.

Read more about the ruling and about similar clothing violations that have been the downfall of U.S. skiers Daron Rahlves and Bode Miller in recent years.
