Pikes Peak Greenway Trail bridge. Jerilee Bennett, The Gazette
Do you run, ride or walk the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail?
If so, you'll be excited to see this new bridge that was lifted into place over Monument Creek on Wednesday morning.
The pedestrian bridge is just south of the Bijou Street traffic bridge and connects the east and west segments of the trail.
See more photos of the installation.
The Pikes Peak Greenway Trail encompasses 14 miles of paths that are gravel, asphalt and concrete.
It's the primary trail through Colorado Springs from tje Air Force Academy (Santa Fe County Trail) south along Monument and Fountain creeks to El Pomar Youth Sports Complex (Santa Fe County Trail). It also forms part of the Front Range Trail System.
