Snowboarder found in creek at Steamboat

Steamboat Springs — A 32-year-old snowboarder was found unresponsive at about 11:30 a.m. on Quickdraw in Sunshine Bowl at Steamboat Ski Area, according to a news release from the ski area.

The man was found slightly off the trail in a creek, according to a news release from the Routt County Sheriff’s Office.

Those who found the snowboarder performed CPR until ski patrol arrived. The man was transported to Yampa Valley Medical Center and later was flown to Denver.

The man was in "grave" condition Tuesday at Denver Health according to a hospital spokesperson. The incident is under investigation.
