Denver's road racing scene will be a lot more interesting this spring because two of the city's most important races came to the same great idea: adding 10-mile races to their other offerings.
The Cherry Creek Sneak, with its 5-mile main event and 5-kilometer prelim, will celebrate its 30th running April 29 with a new 10-miler that utilizes Downing Street, Cheesman Park and Seventh Avenue along with the traditional 5-mile course.
The Colfax Marathon also is adding a 10-miler to be run concurrently with the marathon, half-marathon and marathon relay May 20. It will have a mostly downhill route from Lakewood to the finish at City Park that is used for the other races as well.
Learn why 10 miles is such a great distance and find out some course details.
