No, that scene shouldn't discourage you from skiing Aspen!  Avalanche danger following Saturday night's snowfall delayed the opening of lift 1A at Aspen Mountain on Sunday morning. By the time crews finished avalanche control work, the line of powder hounds was, well, a tad long.  The Aspen Skiing Co. said a similar line formed at gondola plaza, stretching down East Durant Avenue to the Little Nell hotel.That's what happens when you have to wait till mid-January for a decent dump!  The lifts ran till 4 p.m. to offset the delay.  Photo courtesy of the Aspen Daily News and the Aspen Skiing Co.
