2 skiers die on Aspen mountains |

Two skiers have died in separate incidents at or near Aspen ski areas.
A 30-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon at Aspen Highlands when he crashed into a tree while snowboarding in the Canopy Cruiser area, according to a statement from the Aspen Skiing Co. He was wearing a helmet and died despite efforts by ski patrollers to revive him.
A 43-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon after he was buried by an avalanche outside the boundaries of Snowmass. Other skiers found the man and dug him out. Ski patrollers spent more than an hour trying to revive the man before rescuers pronounced him dead at the scene.
The incidents were reported within 35 minutes of each other.
The names and hometowns of the men were not available Wednesday evening.
Avalanche danger across much of Colorado's high country is "considerable," according to a Wednesday posting on the Colorado Avalanche Information Center website.
The CAIC on Sunday sent a warning of Increased danger of avalanche.
