Keystone skier airlifted to Front Range hospital

A downed skier was taken off Keystone Mountain Monday and flown by helicopter to a Front Range hospital.

The emergency evacuation flight happened at about 1 p.m. and the skier was transported by Flight for Life Colorado to St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, said Laura Parquette, a ski area spokeswoman.

The unidentified victim, a 69-year-old man skiing the Frenchman run at the Summit County resort, was wearing a helmet.
