Santa takes to the slopes at Monarch

But the real-deal Santa allegedly will take turns at Monarch Mountain on Christmas Eve, burning a few calories and getting some kinks out before his overnight sleigh ride around the world.  He'll be available for photos while he's in Colorado.

Monarch also is holding its annual Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show on New Year's Eve, if you're looking for a fun way to ring in 2012.. Sign up at the Guest Services Desk to participate in the Torchlight Parade.

Kid Fest 2012, which includes FREE activities, contests, games and prizes for kids age 2-12 is Jan. 8. Activities include face painting, interactive snow sculptures, helmet decorating, touch a snowcat, butterfly hunt, and a kid's terrain park.
