But we like what our friends over at Open Snow are doing. And they've made part of it mobile - on your iPhone.

You can see live reports from the hill, and post photos so your friends can drool over your good fortune. You can get alerts when Open Snow has forecast a powder day.

Joel Gratz at Open Snow says the app does two things well: LiveSnow and Snow Alerts.
