Boulder's Flagstaff Mountain could be the USA Pro Cycling Challenge's Alpe d'Huez, the famous climb from the Tour de France.
That's the hope of Boulder cyclist Tom Danielson.
While 12 Colorado cities celebrated their participation in next year's race Tuesday, Danielson, the highest-finishing American in this year's Tour, said concluding atop Flagstaff would solve the race's problem of no mountaintop finishes.
Flagstaff Mountain, just west of downtown Boulder, is 7,283 feet.
Read John Henderson's story to find out why Danielson says Flagstaff is "one of the hardest climbs I've ever ridden."
