Lindsey Vonn 'just friends' with the Tebow family
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 11:32

Lindsey Vonn has a laugh with Robby Tebow in the finish line area after Vonn won a World Cup race at Beaver Creek last week.  Andy Cross, The Denver Post

"A lot of people are wondering what's up with me and the Tebows," writes skier Lindsey Vonn in the blog she does for The Denver Post.  "I'm just friends with the family.

"I met Tim and his brother Pete at the ESPY Awards like three or four years ago in the gym — we were working out there. I spent more time with Tim and his brother at the V Foundation Golf Tournament, and this year at the ESPYs.

"Tim presented me with my ESPY award this year, and we kind of chatted. I said, 'If you want to come up to Vail and ski, let me know.'"  (Vonn lives in Vail - as much as a ski racer can live anywhere!)

Robby Tebow watched Vonn race at Beaver Creek last week (see photo, above) - the first time Vonn has raced at home.

And he invited her to watch brother Tim, the Denver Broncos quarterback, play a home game. She took him up on that offer Sunday - only her second pro football game ever, she says - and joined the Tebow family to watch Tim and the Broncos in their nail-biting, last-second win over the Chicago Bears.

You can read Vonn's blog at the Post online.  (It's a breezy, chatty read.) She'll add items throughout the World Cup season.
