Monday, December 12, 2011 21:01

Beaver Creek was still buzzing about the Birds of Prey ski racers in town when townspeople learned the city would host the finish of Stage 4 in August's 2nd annual USA Pro Cycling Challenge.

“We're beyond excited," Tim Baker, executive director of the Beaver Creek Resort Co., told the Vail Daily.

City reps say they're talking with Avon officials about events to build around the Cycling Challenge, including an event like the Tough Mudder.

In the inaugural event, Vail hosted a time trial. It was an economic boost for the town, officials said.
