Most years the trees in the Christmas tree lot on Summit Boulevard in Frisco would be surrounded by or covered in snow, but not this year. Mark Fox, Summit Daily

It may be rather and brown in Summit County right now, but meteorologists say the white stuff probably is just around the corner.

And that snowfall in late December or early January is more typical than last year, when the area was pounded time and again.

Yes, the ski areas are open. ( Keystone is reporting 40 inches this seaon; Breckenridge, 64; and Copper, 44.)

Yes, the Dew Tour hits Breck this week.
