ASPEN — Aspen Highlands will make a grand debut Saturday when parts of Highland Bowl, Steeplechase and Temerity open for the season, Aspen Skiing Co. announced Thursday.

Buttermilk also will open its season Saturday by firing up the new Tiehack Express chairlift.

Top-to-bottom skiing will be offered at each of the four ski areas at Aspen-Snowmass, and more than 2,000 acres will be open to skiers and riders.

At Highlands, the Exhibition, Loge, Cloud Nine and Deep Temerity chairlifts will operate. There will be 50 trails and 515 acres of skiing offered. The north-facing lines from G-2 through G-8 will open in Highland Bowl.

“All of the upper mountain will open with the exception of the Wall and Jug's Hill,” Skico said in a statement. In Temerity, open trails will be Lucky Find, Mushroom, Hyde Park and Canopy Cruiser leading to Bear Hollow Road.
