ESPN's inaugural "Test Your Medal" Winter X medal design contest is over and online voters chose Joe Hodnicki's design, above, as the top entry.

Hodnicki's design features a snowboard, skis, and a snowmobile combined into an X shape. A medal fashioned after this design will go to each Winter X 2012 champion.

Winter X returns to Buttermilk in Aspen Jan. 26-29.

Hodnicki will receive his own set of Winter X Games medals and gets a shout out during the telecast.

Gar Hoover's mountain-inspired design took second place.

Steve Winiarz's mitten-shaped medal took third.
