Just got this tweet on the wings of a butterfly: "Monarch Mountain is pleased to announce that we will open for the 2011-2012 season on Thursday, December 8th.!" Monarch Mountain announced it will begin its 72nd ski season. This weekend's storm left behind 19 inches of snow and Monarch is reporting a 22-inch, mid-mountain base depth. Monarch will open 20 runs Thursday served by the Pioneer, Tumbelina and Caterpillar lifts. The area will have crews out this week to work on getting more terrain open for the weekend.
All services will be in operation; food service, ski and ride school, rentals, child care and retail will all be ready for guests. |
